Nebelhexe has inspired, enchanted (and puzzled!) the alternative music scene since the mid 90's. Her music and words express her deep thoughts, feelings, dreams, visions, obscure experiences and the magic that is surrounding her.

Her early love for British gothic, new wave and underground music brought her to London in '90 where she soon became part of the subculture scenes. Always searching, and always having had an understanding for the supernatural, life's mysteries and animals, she connected with various magic/pagan/witch circles. Seeking to explore the shadow-side, she became a model in the fetish scene and a known act with notorious artistic performances (such as the Cradle of Filth shows)...

In '94 she made quite an impact with the dark-ambient one time project Aghast. Nebelhexe and Aghast- partner Nacht created haunting, howling and sinister sounds that managed to freak out even experienced horror movie fans, who reported that the music made them turn on the light and look under the bed. Naturally this album impressed the extreme metal scene, where it reached cult status.

Quite different are the beautiful and tribal melodies of Nebelhexe’s previous musical entity Hagalaz' Runedance. Hagalaz’ Runedance became very popular, even reached commercial popularity and hit the album charts in Germany. With it she lit a strong flame of pagan/goddess awareness. More info about this past project can be found on her H.R. myspace.

Her writings and comments became quite respected. Andrea Haugen (as she is called in the ordinary world) dares to speak against the inhibiting patriarchal religions that demonised our nature. Many of her social-critical articles and comments are printed in alternative magazines and also in the biggest tabloid papers and popular magazines.
Often she is referred to as being one of the most intriguing personalities of the subculture, and often she has been misunderstood, misinterpreted, sometimes even censored.

Nebelhexe is a multi-artist who clearly runs her own show. And many simply don't get her. Her music is placed in many different boxes and always falls inbetween categories. And in our stereotype superficial world this is sadly quite unfortunate if one wants to sell records.

She is her own person, stands by her art and ideals and yes she creates all her music and visual concepts herself... something that appears to be rather uncommon in todays music scene and she wishes there were more women out there who would create their own music.
