Terminal Function was formed in late 1998 by drummer David Lindkvist, guitarist Stefan Aronsson and guitarist Jens Eriksson. The three members were students at the same school and were planning on starting up a technical death metal band. The first rehearsals took place in early 1999 but the project were put aside during the summer and restarted again in the fall of 1999. During the break, Jens Eriksson left the band. David and Stefan put great effort in writing songs and songs like Measuring the Abstract, Remote Views and Pandemonium were written.
During spring 2001, Terminal Function was looking for session musicians to play on the local festival Parkrock. The following members finally got drafted: bass - Gabriel Olsson, keyboards - Lars Ekman and vocals - Robert Nyström. Sami Mäki (later recruited to Theory In Practice) was going to play 2:nd guitar, but as it turned out - he didn't. You can find pictures from the gig at Parkrock in the 'media'-section.
After Parkrock, Gabriel Olsson joined the band full-time and sticked with us until the recording of 2003 demo Time Bending Patterns began. During summer 2002, a new guitarist were recruited: Mikael Almgren. He fits perfectly in the band and has brought a new interesting edge to the music. Since summmer 2000, we have been prosponing the recording of our first demo. Finally, in April 2003, we actually came around doing it! We had also recruited a singer - Victor Larsson - who was going to sing on the demo.
Johan Wickholm, the guitarist of Terrordrome, was asked to fill out the empty bass spot on the Parkrock gig. Things went further than that and we are very glad to now have Johan onboard as a full time member!
